There are nine spacious ensuite rooms; seven junior suites and two master suites (with a separate living room). Other than drink the stunning Colume wines you may also enjoy the lovely swimming pool, tennis court, cycle or ride around the estancia or even just enjoy a pleasant walk around the extensive grounds. Appointments can also be made for a session with a well-known massage therapist in the peaceful massage room.
Bodega Colome has a ‘gaucho’ bar, living room and library with fireplace, main terrace and a large central patio with fountain. The hotel restaurant offers dishes prepared with organic home grown vegetables and meat from their farm and has a dining gallery and sun deck offering wonderful views over the valley.
Colomé was farmed for thousand of years by natives who were excellent stewards of the lands. The old Colome Winery was founded in 1831, probably by the Spanish Governor of Salta Nicolas Severo de Isasmendi y Echalar. His daughter Ascension, introduced Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon vines to Colome from France in 1854. Three vineyards of 10 acres (4 hectares) dating from this time still produce grapes.
Swiss-born art collector Donald Hess bought the property in 2001 and restored the original estancia.
