Hotel Manantial del Silencio

The serene Hotel Manantial del Silencio is located in Purmamarca - the most idyllic village actually in the Quebrada de Humahuaca canyon. Just 2 hours north of Jujuy this hotel has an enviable setting. There are 19 large rooms.

Part of the Hotel Manantial del Silencio was a former monastery and it was extended 15 years ago. However the design is traditional and in keeping. There is a tranquil feeling amongst the silence of the canyon. There is a slower place of life here and so if your reason for visiting is to relax and get away from it all, then even a five day stay might not be enough and two nights would be the minimum that we recommend.

There is a fine Andean restaurant here which is a great thing because you will work up an appetite! The main activity here is walking, so armed with a good pair of boots, the canyon has many stunning hikes around the Rock of Seven Colours etc. Though do make sure that you also allow time to laze around by the pool, sit and do nothing, read your book etc. Peace and calm is to be found here.
