House of Jasmines

House of Jasmines is a beautiful 120 year old home formerly owned by Robert Duvall and just a twenty-five minute drive outside the city of Salta. At the heart of the 300-acre ranch in the Andean foothills is a seven-suite Spanish colonial home filled with elegantly understated cream furnishings, indigenous artefacts and candles.

The wonderful fragrance of orchid, rose and jasmine hangs in the air. Homemade cooking is served in the restaurant while a spa - with treatments - completes the picture. This very romantic estancia is fringed with the foothills of the far-off Andes, there is a pool, a river and a stunning avenue of 100 year old trees. All the very private bedrooms (some a bit small) have bathrooms and delightful views. With the spa as well and you have a really unique experience in Argentina’s northwest. House of Jasmines has recently become a Relais & Chateaux property.

The general style is of whites and creams and this is not the place for muddy boots.

Walking, riding and cookery lessons are some of the things on the list to do here, as well as using it as a great base for exploring this exciting and beautiful area.

Children under twelve are not accepted, but it isn’t really a place for children, although teenagers are welcome and an extra bed can be placed in the rooms.
