Argentina abounds with fantastic natural attractions and varied wildlife. Best known are the breathtaking Iguazú Falls, whose verdant sub-tropical forest teems with birds and butterflies. The Iberá Wetlands, a land of marshy lagoons, abundance of sub-tropical wildlife and stunning sunsets. Meanwhile, on Patagonia's Valdés Peninsula you can expect to see seals, and in season, penguins and whales- we love this itinerary!

Itinerary

Day 1
Fly overnight to Argentina from the UK.

Day 2
Arrive in Buenos Aires, rest of the day at leisure. Stay 2 nights at a hotel of your choice. Contact us for recommendations.

Day 3
A half-day city tour taking in the main sights including the Plaza de Mayo, Recoleta cemetery and the bohemian quarter of La Boca.

Days 4-6
Fly to Posadas and continue overland to Posada Aguape (2hrs), a small welcoming lodge on the shores of Iberá Lagoon. The vast Iberá Wetlands are highly rewarding for viewing wildlife including capybara, caiman alligator, giant otter marsh deer and over 350 species of birds.

Days 7-9
Drive to Iguazú Falls. Visit the monumental Iguazú Falls, witnessing its spectacular multitude of waterfalls on both the Argentinean and Brazilian side. Stay 2 nights at a hotel of your choice. Contact us for recommendations
Note: for water sport enthusiasts like rapelling and white water rafting, ask us about adding extra nights at the  Iguazú Falls.

Days 10-12
Fly south to Trelew and then drive to Puerto Madryn on the Atlantic coast. The Valdés Peninsula is a nature reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site inhabited by an array of wildlife including sea lions, elephant seals, fur seals and southern right whales. Take a whale watching boat trip (Aug to Sept) and see the penguins at Punta Tombo (Sept to Mar). Stay 2 nights at a hotel of your choice. Contact us for recommendations.

Day 13
Fly to Buenos Aires for a further 2 nights at a hotel of your choice. Contact us for recommendations
