Day 1 UK – Santiago
Overnight flight to Santiago
Day 2 - Santiago
Reception at Santiago airport and transfer to your selected hotel in the heart of the city. Afternoon, city tour Santiago, Moneda Palace, the Plaza de Armas, the Museum of National History and the Central Post Office, Parque Forestal, the Fine Arts Museum and Santa Lucia Hill where the city was founded in 1541.
Day 3 - Santiago – Atacama Desert - Moon Valley
Morning transfer to the airport and flight to Calama. Upon arrival, greeting and transfer to hotel. Afternoon, half-day Moon Valley excursion
Day 4 - Atacama Desert
Morning excursion to Tulor, Quitor, Atacama Salt Lake and Toconao. In the afternoon excursion to the Atacama Salt Lake and Toconao Upon
Day 5 - Atacama Desert
Full day Tatio Geysers with Machuca Village
Day 6 - Atacama Desert – Punta Arenas
Morning at leisure, check out and transfer to Calama airport to take the flight to Santiago and connect with flight to Punta Arenas in Patagonia. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel in Punta Arenas.
Note: This is a long day, flying Calama-Santiago-Punta Arenas taking about 7 hours including the layover in Santiago. It’s possible to fly this over night should you like to break the journey. Remember this is a tailor-made itinerary and if it is too long the Atacama Desert can be taken out.
Day 7 - Punta Arenas – Torres del Paine National Park
Full day excursion to Torres del Paine National Park. Visit the Milodón Cave, where the remains of a prehistoric animal were found in the last century. The Torres del Paine National Park was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1978. Distances are huge in the 160,000 hectares park. Overnight in the park
Day 8 – Torres del Paine
Enjoy an activity of your choice at your hosteria. Depending on your trip budget various hosterias are on option
Day 9/10 – Torres del Paine
Enjoy days exploring the park. Guided excursions can be booked at your hosteria.
Day 11 – Torres del Paine – Calafate
Transfer overland to the border of Argentina, ongoing transfer to Calafate. A stop will be made on the border Chile to Argentina to clear immigration. Todays drive is stunning and takes about 5 hours through Patagonia with scenic stops on-route. With a little bit of luck you will see guanacos, condors and Patagonian fox.
Day 12 – Calafate
Overland trip to Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the most beautiful glaciers in South America, declared Universal Mankind’s Heritage Site by UNESCO. A boat excursion to the face of the glacier is included to get an up-close and personal perspective of this immense gift from Mother Nature.
Day 13 – Calafate - Upsala glacier
Day excursions to Upsala Glacier. Navigation among icebergs and stunning scenery overlooking the western front of the Upsala Glacier to the point of landing at the farm. Return to Calafate in the early evening.
Day 14 - Calafate – Buenos Aires
Transfer to the airport and flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 15 Buenos Aires
Morning city tour of Buenos Aires, in our opinion South Americas most cosmopolitan cities. We will visit the center of the city, San Telmo, La Boca, Puerto Madero and Palermo, with stops in Plaza de Mayo, Caminito and La Recoleta. In this tour, you will acquire a deep understanding of its characteristics, its history, its architecture, its culture and its best stories.
Day 16 Buenos Aires
Day of leisure. Evening tango show. At night enjoy Esquina Carlos Gardel tango show performed by the best dancers and singers while enjoying a delicious meal. Three-course dinner and Argentinean wine included
Day 17 Buenos Aires – UK
Day of leisure in Buenos Aires. Evening transfer to the airport and overnight flight back home.
