Faena Hotel and Universe
Faena Hotel and Universe in Puerto Madero is considered by many Buenos Aires’ most unique and cool hotel. It is very definitely a party hotel with fun and opulence being the main themes.
Staying here is a bit like entering a film set and you will feel like the star. The décor is amazing, elegant and ‘kitsch’ all at the same time. The Faena has 108 rooms and is housed in the shell of a 100 year old former warehouse. The hotel is only four years old and as you enter you will walk past bricks which have been rather bizarrely imported from Manchester docks. The Faena's bar provides some of the best night life in Buenos Aires and the nightly tango show is arguably the best in town. With a wonderfully large pool (open year round, heated in winter), lovely steam room and massages to top all massages the Faena is the place to be pampered. Above all else - it is an 'experience' to stay at the Faena.
With an efficient service provided by the friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. The Faena loves hosting guests from honeymooners, to families (eight inter-connecting rooms which are ideal for parents with children). The Puerto Madero area is wonderful to stroll around and you can easily walk into the city centre from the hotel, though taxis are inexpensive. It is near to some great restaurants although the Faena's own will be hard to beat.
“Designed by Philippe Starck, this hotel offers over-the-top elegance in Puerto Madero, a planned waterfront district. The spacious hotel, which occupies an old grain silo, has everything from a cabaret stage to a hammam.” New York Times.
