The Iguazu Falls National Park extends over 22,000 acres protecting one of the natural areas of greatest biological diversity in the country; the Paranese subtropical rainforest, a continuation of the Southern Brazilian Jungle. It has more than 2100 known plant species, amongst which abound pindo palms, gigantic trees, arborescent ferns, orchids and large epiphytes such as the huge bromeliads known as ‘caraguata ‘ and tall canes (50 feet high). The Iguazu Falls comprise the northern area of the province of Misiones, Argentina and the south-western area of the state of Paraná, Brazil.

Although Iguazu is best known for the waterfalls, the surrounding jungle is also well worth including in your explorations.
