Cavas Wine Lodge
Cavas Wine Lodge is a modern building and set in the heart of
It is set amidst vines against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains. The food is quite delicious, perhaps the finest in the region and has a proper Latin-American twist - so while you might lunch elsewhere if touring other wineries, make sure you dine here every night: you really won’t be disappointed.
Also there is a great roof terrace which is just perfect if you want chill out with a bottle of local wine and watch the moon and stars…. It really is lovely here. At the Cava Wine Lodge there is a beautiful and tranquil spa with vine views and you should definitely plan to be here for at least three nights to give you two full days to explore the area’s wineries and then another day of downtime to make the most of the spa and its wine treatments.
Try and avoid March when it is the wine harvest festival and availability is not good. Also note that children under 12 years of age are not allowed at the lodge.
"Cavas Wine Lodge is surrounded by vineyards in a private, 60-acre valley. There are 14 adobe-style luxury villas, each with its own plunge-pool and private terrace. The restaurant serves South American cuisine with a wide range of wines from across the continent. Other activities include hiking, rafting, riding and bodega hopping. Why go? Enjoy the country's outstanding wines in ideal surroundings."
