The Los Glaciares National Park, covering 600,000 hectares of wild and rugged landscape, is one of the many national parks in the area which protects this beautiful part of Argentina. Numerous lakes are fed by glacial run-off, reflecting the majesty of the snow-capped peaks. The mountain sides are covered by forests of southern beech trees many of which change colour spectacularly in autumn.

As well as the Perito Moreno glacier the highlights of the park include the granite peaks of the Fitzroy and Torres mountains. The area is a “mecca” for climbers from all over the world, and also offers great hiking, riding, mountain biking, rafting and overnight stays in isolated estancias next to stunning turquoise lakes.
