Eolo
Eolo has style, luxury and a dramatic location in equal quantities. It is and feels impressively remote. There’s really nothing in the immediate vicinity of this lodge, which though modern, has been built to a traditional design.
As well as the seventeen generously-sized rooms in the lodge, there is also a small indoor pool, sauna, library, bar and restaurant. After a busy day of hiking, riding or mountain biking in the fresh mountain air, there is nothing better than to chill out in the sitting room and gaze out across the vast open plains.
We would recommend a stay of at least 2 nights because of the sheer distances you travel in order to get here. Eolo is smart but not over the top, however, guests do tend to make an effort to dress up for dinner.
Eolo is 25km from El Calafate and 50km from the airport. The lodge is open from the end of September to the end of April.
"Set in glorious isolation on a grassy slope off the main road between El Calafate and the Moreno glacier (the name celebrates the region's famous winds). Indigenous fabrics and earthy tones are used throughout, and the huge windows offer some of the most bleakly beautiful views in Patagonia."
