Los Notros

Los Notros is a lodge-style hotel in a unique location and is the closest to the Perito Moreno glacier that you can stay. It is an unforgettable experience to sit out on the terrace and gaze out onto the world’s only advancing glacier. There are 32 rooms all facing the glacier.

Los Notros was built 17years ago and offers all inclusive 2 to 4 day packages. Everything is taken care of from your road transfers (1 hr 15 mins from El Calafate), all meals, bilingual guides, boat trips, ‘mini-trekking’ on the glacier. If you want you can completely avoid the inevitably touristy El Calafate as all activities and excursions are organised from Los Notros. With your guide, you take you stroll along walkways to watch huge chunks of ice carve into the milky turquoise lake, or hike the glacier’s surface with crampons.

Rooms are comfortable, but not ostentatious and the restaurant serves a good range of traditional Patagonian delights, accompanied by a very good wine list. The real magic is the view from your room: unforgettable and truly awe-inspiring. While others have to make their way back to El Calafate (80 kms away) at the end of the day, you can sit back and relax in the knowledge that you don’t have to go anywhere at least for two nights!

Los Notros is open from mid September and closes from mid May. Usually after Easter the hotel quietens down a bit, so this can be a great time to come if you are prepared to take your chances with the weather.
