Since 1952, the village of Bahia Bustamante has been exclusively devoted to the seaweed harvest. At the beginning, 500 people lived here. At that time wagons pulled by horses were used to collect the crops. Some 40 inhabitants live in Bahía Bustamante and all are devoted to seaweed production in this unique village”. You will also have the opportunity to see a wide variety of birds and marine mammals. There are lovely beaches to be discovered with white sands and turquoise clear waters. The food is delicious and local produce is used wherever possible such as marine algae (seaweed), lamb, fish and shellfish. All vegetables are grown locally and homemade marmalades and jams are made from fruits grown on the estancia, served with scrummy home-made bread.
