It is the ideal location from which to enjoy the vastness of this flat Patagonian countryside and its extraordinary wealth of wildlife. Rincon Chico has over 10 km of private Atlantic coastline with long and wild stretches of beaches, the breeding ground for great numbers of elephant seals and sea-lions.

What to see:
Southern Right Whales also come to breed from the end of June to mid-December (great viewing). Orcas (killer whales) come into Punta Del Norte from December to April and practise their unique and startling beaching in order to prey on the sea lions.

Magellan penguins come to breed from October to the end of March. From January to March you should see sea-lions and penguins, but no whales. In August, although colder, you could see sheep shearing - the other big thing here; as well as the remains of the petrified forest.

Self-drive is definitely an option in this area. Having a car would obviously give you greater flexibility.

"An "eco-ranch" in coastal Patagonia, Rincon Chico offers visitors the chance to view the region's native wildlife as well as life on a working cattle farm."
