Day 1: Flight to Cuzco
Day at leisure. Enjoy exploring Cuzco independently.
Day 2: Mountain Lodges of Peru Trek
Cuzco to Salkantay Lodge and Adventure Resort at Soraypampa (3,600 meters/11,800 feet above sea level).
Day 3: Mountain Lodges of Peru Trek
Soraypampa- this day is spent at leisure for rest or activities, depending upon guests’ level of acclimatization.
Day 4: Mountain Lodges of Peru Trek
Soraypampa to Wayra Lodge at Huayraccmachay (3,900 meters/12,000 feet). This is the big day: the start of the four-day trek to Machu Picchu.
Day 5: Mountain Lodges of Peru Trek
Huayraccmachay to Collpa Lodge at Collpapampa (2,800 meters/9,000 feet). Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Mountain Lodges of Peru Trek
Collpapampa to Lucma Lodge at Lucmabamba (2,100 meters/6,600 feet). Beginning of the Llactapata Inca Trail. From the head of the trail, it is a short climb (30 minutes) to the Lucma Lodge, set in an avocado orchard.
Day 7: Mountain Lodges of Peru Trek
Lucmabamba to Aguas Calientes (2,000 meters/6,600 feet). We head uphill for two hours toward Llactapata pass (2,600 meters/8,500 feet), where we come upon a distant but quite special view of Machu Picchu from the southwest, a view few tourists ever glimpse; an added value is the Llactapata Ruins, which have recently been restored. Overnight at Inkaterra La Casona.
Day 8: Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu (716 meters/2,350 feet) to Cuzco. Ride to Machu Picchu (30 minutes). A complete guided tour of Machu Picchu will be provided. Return by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch and to go to the train station for the afternoon departure. The train will arrive in Cuzco before transfer to hotel. Overnight at Inkaterra Pueblo Hotel.
Day 9: Cuzco to Lake Titicaca
Explorer Train from Cuzco to Puno (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday only):
Fantastic train ride that takes a gentle climb to higher and cooler altitudes. The journey is broken by a scenic stop at La Raya, which is also the highest point on the route. Three-course lunch included. Restaurant and bar service is available at an additional cost. Overnight at Titilaka Lodge.
Day 10: Lake Titicaca, Bolivia
Overland transfer to Copacabana, Bolivia. Llama trek to "Posada del Inca" (25 to 40 minute trek), and enjoy lunch at "Posada del Inca Eco Lodge". Afternoon at leisure to explore the surroundings.
Day 11: Lake Titicaca Bolivia – La Paz
Visit the Inca “Grand Stairs” and the Sacred fountain, where we will drink the water believed to give eternal youth and happiness. We will enjoy lunch at the "Uma Kollu" archaeological restaurant, and visit the small handicraft market. After lunch, take the hydrofoil cruise to Huatajata, where we will visit the "Andean Roots Eco Village.
Day 12: La Paz – Uyuni
Depart from La Paz by overland bus to Oruro (3 hours), then train to Uyuni (6-7 hours), crossing a big portion of the highlands.
Day 13: Uyuni Desert
Full day trip toward the Great & Huge Uyuni Salt Lake. After breakfast departure towards Colchani. After visiting the "Ojos de Agua" in the border of the Salar you continue your trip towards Isla Pescado or Incawasi. Upon arrival, you will visit the Island and enjoy lunch.
Day 14: Soniquera – Uyuni
Departure towards Laguna Colorada. Continue trip to Sol de Mañana and then to Green Lagoon. The mirrored surface of the water sparkles in the brilliant altiplano light, appearing as a giant emerald on the surface of the plain, and the singular shine of the green lagoon in the afternoon sunlight can be blinding. From here one can observe the imposing beauty of the Llicancabur volcano which rises from the beaches of the lagoon to a height of 5865m.
Day 15: Arrive back La Paz
Reception in Oruro and public bus from Oruro to La Paz with assistance from one of our guides. Arrival in La Paz and transfer from bus station to hotel. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 16: La Paz – Rio
Morning check out and transfer to the airport. Flight to Rio via Sao Paulo. Upon arrival in Rio airport reception and transfer Hotel Fasano.
Day 17/18: Rio
Days of leisure to explore Rio independently or relax on the beach/pool.
Day 19: Rio
Days at leisure to enjoy Rio. Transfer to the airport and flight back home.
