Somewhere near Buzios!
Just over a 100 miles north of Rio and a brief two hour road trip brings you to the idyllic peninsula of Búzios. There are 20 magnificent beaches and crystal-clear waters contrast with sculptured landscape and exotic vegetation. Buzios has a laid-back atmosphere with great hotels, bars and smart restaurants. Brought to the fore by Brigitte Bardot, who also loved Buzios, it is a relaxing and fun place to spend a few days after some time in Rio perhaps.

Originally settled by European pirates and slave traders, Buzios is now a picturesque fishing village combining rustic charm and incredible beauty with sophisticated boutiques and restaurants. Buzios is another cobbled gem of a town.

Búzios has beaches for every taste: with or without waves, deep or shallow, cold or mild, crowded or deserted. There are four yacht clubs here and the annual Búzios Sailing Week is Brazil's answer to Cowes.


Pousada Casas Brancas is a hip and stylish boutique hotel nestled in the hills overlooking the stunning bay of Búzios. It is one of the oldest hotels in Buzios and a five minute walk from the main high street.
