Tailormade Holidays in Brazil

Fernando do Noronha

Fernando do Noronha is where you can find the three most beautiful and preserved beaches of Brazil: Sancho’s Bay, Atalaia´s Beach and Lion’s Beach.

If you are a fan of wildlife and diving then you will love the archipelago and its protected marine park of Fernando de Noronha, located 350 km off the coast. The 21 islands were formed by volcanic activity roughly 12 million years ago. The Main Island is 15 km long and it is fringed by endless deserted sandy beaches.

The climate is tropical, with two well defined seasons: the rainy season from January to August, and the dry season for the rest of the year. Fernando do Noronha is reached by air from Natal or Recife and visitor numbers are restricted in order to preserve and protect the environment.

On the island of Boldro, you will find the small eco-lodge of Pousada Teju-Acu, the 12 eucalyptus- and ipe-wood bungalows resemble upscale tree houses. More…

Pousada Solar dos Ventos
has beautiful rustic decoration in its 9 simple stand-alone bungalows and the stunning ocean views make a stay here a very relaxing experience. The pousada enjoys a privileged location with some of the best views of any posada on the island. More…

Pousada Maravilha
boasts some of the most stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The unusual emerald waters of the horseshoe-shaped Baia do Sueste and the Isle of Cabeluda provide the back drop for the bungalows and common areas. Each bungalow has a private deck with an outdoor Japanese bath and amazingly comfy furniture throughout. More…

The Pousada Ze Maria has 15 comfortable apartments, king size beds and an infinity pool with a breathtaking view of Morro do Pico, one of Fernando de Noronha's landmarks. This is one of the few places in Noronha where you can see both sides of the island. More…

Extra info: Fernando de Noronha is considered to have the best scuba diving in Brazil. With good visibility (up to 50m), warm waters, exuberant sub-aquatic fauna and flora can be found in dives from 25 to 40 m deep (dolphins, turtles, stingrays and tropical fish abound here). Also, a Brazilian warship, the corvette 'Nael Ipiranga', sank in 1987 and is lying in pristine condition at around 190 feet.

The island was mostly forested until the 19th century, when it was cleared to prevent prisoners from hiding and building rafts. The islands are now predominantly covered by shrubland, with some areas of secondary forest. Most of the original vegetation was cut down in the 19th century, when the island was used as a prison, to keep the prisoners from hiding and making rafts.
