Txai Resort

Txai Resort is a superior and stylish, yet simple eco resort (pronounced ‘chai’) and it is set in about 100 hectares of coconut groves and rare preserved Atlantic rainforest. There is a beautiful pool here too with miles of white sandy beaches of which most people only dream about. There are 40 rooms/individual thatched bungalows.

The resort and its spa are both set on a hillside and it is just one of those lovely places where you will always remember staying. There are a lot of activities. The resort is not far from the town, but requires a twenty minute taxi ride.

Everywhere you look there are reminders of Brazil from the local artwork to the colourful little statues of Bahian ladies, wooden sculptures or woven hats. Facing this are stone walls that feed down into water pools and channels that skirt the building. Huge open windows framed by pale turquoise shutters allow the light to flood in. On occasional cool nights the big wooden doors are closed and a crackling fire keeps things cosy.
