Barra Mansa Lodge
The Barra Mansa Lodge is family run lodge catering both to fishing and eco tourism. The lodge is located at the confluence of the Vazante do Castelo and Negro rivers, 225km from
The lodge was built in the 1940s as a cattle ranch. In 1996 the grandson of the original settler set up an eco-tourism project at the ranch. The main fazenda has beautiful views of the river and the guestrooms have screened windows, air-conditioning and verandas. There is room for 16 guests. Activities offered include sport fishing, guided excursions to see the surrounding flora and fauna, horse-riding and bird watching.

In terms of getting there you should take a domestic flight from Sao Paulo to Campo Grande (1hr 40 mins) followed by a private plane to Barra Mansa.
Children are welcome here and May to October is the best time to visit.
