Itinerary
Day 1: Managua
On arrival into Managua you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Enjoy staying at the wonderfully located Hotel los Robles.
Day 2: Managua - Leon
After catching up on sleep and a hearty breakfast, take a tour of the capital. After lunch transfer from Managua to Leon via Leon Viejo. Stay at the beautiful El Convento.
Day 3: Leon
Today enjoy a tour of the fascinating colonial city of Leon. Leon is a land of volcanoes, and hot weather and is an attractive destination due to its museums, art galleries, colonial architecture, an imposing cathedral, and the facades of its churches. Take a visit to the San Jacinto Mud Pots.
Day 4: Leon
Enjoy a day of leisure, exploring the local area, or doing very little.
Day 5: Leon - Matagalpa
Transfer from Leon to Matagalpa. Half day coffee plantation tour. Matagalpa is one of the major coffee growing regions of Nicaragua and as soon as you leave Sebaco you will start seeing coffee farms. Enjoy staying at the stunning La Selva Negra Mountain Resort and Coffee Estate, a real treat!
Day 6: Matagalpa
Day at Leisure to walk the trails around the property, horse-ride or relax.
Day 7: Matagalpa - Granada
Transfer from Matagalpa to Granada via the Masaya National Park. Peek over the edge at the Masaya Volcano, and look into the impressive crater, which is continuously emitting smoke and gases. From this central crater it is possible to hike to other craters or viewpoints.
Day 8: Granada
Half day city tour of Granada plus a boat trip on Lake Nicaragua to Las Isletas.
Day 9: Granada
Day at leisure to explore this atmospheric city yourselves. Granada is the most visited city in Nicaragua; and a integral place to stay on a holiday to the country. It has wonderful colonial and neo-classical architecture, beautiful cobbled streets and a laid-back, relaxed atmosphere.
Day 10: Granada - San Juan del Sur
Transfer from Granada to San Juan del Sur via a tour of Ometepe Island and its spectacular volcanoes. San Juan del Sur provides a wide variety of activities such as surfing and fishing along with beautiful beaches and exciting nightlife. Spend your nights staying at the Hotel Victoriano, a great base from which to explore the City.
Day 11: San Juan del Sur
Day at leisure.
Day 12: San Juan del Sur
Day at leisure.
Day 13: San Juan del Sur
Day at leisure.
Day 14: San Juan del Sur - Managua - home
Early Transfer from San Juan del Sur to Managua for your onward journey home.
