Citizens of the United States, Canada, most European countries, Australia, Canada, Japan and New Zealand usually receive 90-day tourist cards when entering the country. A yellow slip of paper will be stapled into your passport – don’t lose it, as you’ll have to turn it in when you leave, or get it stamped if you extend your stay.
When to go
Like most tropical countries, Honduras experiences a rainy season and a dry season. Rainy season runs roughly from May to November. On the north coast and Bay Islands, the rainy season is later, around September to December. Travel is easier during the dry season, especially for scuba diving and trips to La Moskitia. Then again, the forests and countryside are more lush during the rainy season.
February and March are good months to visit because the weather is usually stable across the country; the trails and roads are drying out but the trees and underbrush are still full and green.
Getting there
From Europe there are no direct flights between the U.K. or Europe to Honduras. Delta, Continental, and American Airlines fly between Europe and Honduras through transfer points in the United States. Flight times vary from 14 hours -24 hours depending on the number of stops in North America, and stopover time.
