Visas
A Nicaragua tourist visa is not required for citizens of UK for a stay up to 30 days. All travellers will need a passport valid for at least 90 days following your departure date from Nicaragua.

When to go
On the Pacific side rainy season runs from May to November, at its rainiest in September and October when sea turtles nest 3000-strong to a beach. Dry season is November to April.

On the Atlantic side rainy and dry seasons are almost entirely academic, so check the weather. The Río San Juan is one of the wettest places on earth, always pack a raincoat!

Getting there
You will fly into the international airport in Managua. Flights from Europe mainly stopover in Amsterdam or America (Houston, Miami, Atlanta, Panama City etc) Managua is serviced by American Airlines, Continental, Taca, Aeromexico and Delta.

Flights times are around 17 hours, depending on your stopover time.
