Awasi

Awasi is a very special boutique property in San Pedro de Atacama offering somewhere intimate and comfortable to stay. It is unique and in perfect harmony with the culture and nature of the area. There are just eight cottages. Awasi combines desert with simple luxury.

Each cottage is made from stone, mud brick and wood and is spacious, has a private patio a reading armchair and a solarium. With wooden floors, thatched roofs, finest linen sheets and alpaca blankets…every detail has been thought of.

Awasi was built with the privacy and comfort of its guests in mind, but also respecting the natural surroundings, the environment, the culture and the local building style. The basic materials used in building Awasi have been used in Atacama for thousands of years: adobe, stone and wood.

There is a swimming pool and you have a driver, guide and 4WD at your disposal allowing you to explore the area at your own pace. We recommend a stay of three or four nights in order to allow you to fully enjoy all that Awasi has to offer.

Awasi (meaning ‘home’ in Quechua) is located a few blocks away from the main square, the old church and the museum, allowing you to comfortably see how life used to be like in San Pedro de Atacama.
