Located in the middle of a forest, the Baobab Hotel was built around a native tree. The hotel has 55 rooms, a Spa and a meeting room for 200 people, among many other ammenities.
The Huilo-Huilo Biological Reserve, created in 1999, is a private natural reserve that covers over 600 km2 / 148,263 acres of native Valdivian rainforest, which has been set asided to protect wildlife, conserve rare temperate rainforest, a precious and much endangered habitat and to promote sustainable eco-tourism.
One of the reserve's main tourist attractions is the Choshuenco volcano (2.415 m / 7.923 ft), which offers year-round skiing and snowboarding for experienced skiers.
Here you won't find a ski center in the traditional sense, of lifts and tracked runs, but back country skiing at its finest. For those not interested in skiing, the area has many more activities to offer: whitewater rafting and fly fishing trips on the rivers Fuy and Enco, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking or canopy tours, to name only a few.
After a day filled with such outdoor activities, visitors are welcome to take a relaxing bath in the natural hot springs near the volcano.
