The lodge is in fact a working estancia and provides an evocative insight into estancia life, with its annual sheep shearing and cattle round-ups. There are 15 bedrooms split between two houses.
The two houses were built as part of the original estancia in the 1920’s. In fact the lodge itself has not really changed very much since it was built, although the renovations have been implemented tastefully and sympathetically.
The lodge is simple, the houses painted white with a red tin pitched roof with the most incredible views.
Positioned just above orchards and vegetable gardens, the front door is surrounded by pretty and fragrant flowers in the spring and summer.
All the rooms retain the charm of the original ranch, but have been modernised to add warmth and comfort.
Much is still done in the traditional way, for example there is a generator which provides the only electricity on the estancia.
Simple, white-painted zinc houses sit above orchards and vegetable gardens, and lilac and honeysuckle grow by the door.
The charming bedrooms and sitting rooms retain all the elegance of the original ranch, but have been modernised to add warmth and comfort.
