The explora en Patagonia is probably the most luxurious hotel in the Torres del Paine National Park. Set on the shores of Lake Pehoe, it is stylish and comfortable and offers an inclusive package with full board and choice of excursions. There are 50 rooms.

The explora's rooms all with a jacuzzi have views of either Salto Chico waterfall or the Paine Massif. There are also 6 larger Suites with views of the Massif.

Explora is open all year round, but in terms of maximising your chances of good weather, the better, but busier, times of year to visit are from November - March. That said, September and October can also be lovely with spring colours. If you go in July and August you can expect a true winter wonderland, see no one else and also experience the Torres del Paine with little or no wind. Pretty magical. The hotel boasts a jacuzzi, sauna, heated lap pool, games room and massage treatment room.

Organised excursions are in small groups with bi-lingual guides and there are five different excursions to choose from each day whether by foot, boat or on horseback.

There are programmes of either 4 or 8 nights available all year round, subject to availability. To make the most of your time here, explora recommend that you stay as long as you can. 5, 6 and 7 night programs are available between May and September upon request.

To reach the explora hotel you must take a four hour flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas. From Punta Arenas you will be met and transferred by road to the explora (a journey of five and a half hours in total including a brunch snack at Llannuras de Diana on the way).
