Patagonian Base Camp

Patagonian Base Camp is a haven for fly fishing. You will fish in breathtaking scenery ranging from wide-open pampas to impenetrable native forests, from magnificent snow-capped mountains to beautiful fjords. The guides here will show you the best and most diverse fly-fishing that Chile has to offer.

The Patagonian Basecamp is open annually from the middle of October until the end of April. There is a fishing guide for every two clients.

The chance that you will meet other fisherman on your outings is unlikely. The chances of catching a real trophy fish, however is great. Nearby rivers, lakes and lagoons offer amazing fly-fishing for large, brown, rainbow and even brook trout. Some of the lakes offer easy-wade and shore fishing, while in others you will enjoy great fishing from a float tube or rowing boat.

The Patagonian Basecamp is located in the midst of a dense native forest on the banks of the Rio Palena in the province of Aysen. There are 6 twin-bedded and four-bedded rooms all ensuite. The comfy lodge, the great food and wonderful Chilean wines will all ensure that your Patagonian fishing experience is a memorable one.

From the lodge you can also ride, hike, float on the river, bird-watch etc.
