Cruises in Chilean Patagonia

Taking a trip on a cruise ship through the southern Chilean Patagonian ice fields is an experience of a life-time and one of the more traditional ways of exploring this area.

On a cruise ship you have time to relax as you watch the fantastic scenery pass by. Or you could head way down south and round the Cape Horn over to the place known as the uttermost part of the world –  Ushuaia.

On these cruises the key to enjoyment is to wear the right clothing. Full waterproof gear is essential as there are daily excursions on zodiac inflatable boats. You will get wet and be miserable if in the wrong trousers! There is nothing worse than being chilly so be prepared and you will be able to enjoy all that is on offer.

The M/N Skorpios III is a deluxe ship for up to 125 passengers. There are 49 comfortable and modern ensuite cabins. The ship sets sail at dawn every Saturday from September to May from Puerto Natales on the Kaweskar Explorer’s Route. It takes you through stunning scenery of fjords, lush hills and icebergs. The Cruceros Australis cruise ships (Mare Australis, Via Australis and new for 2009 the slightly bigger Stella Australis) will take you through the Magellan Straits as well as the Beagle Channel allowing you to to explore one of the most breathtaking wilderness regions in the world:  Southern Patagonia, and Tierra del Fuego. Some of the cruises will take you around Cape Horn. More...
