Valle Nevado is the highest of Chile’s ski resorts at 3,500m and just 37 miles away from Santiago. It has long been a front runner in South American skiing due to its unbeatable location. Skiing amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Andes is a feeling second to none. It is not a large resort, in European terms, with just 3 hotels, seven restaurants, cinema, ski school and cinema.

The Resort
Valle Nevado, modern and convenient, is Chile's most developed ski resort with the fastest lift in South America, 'The Andes Express' and the biggest skiing area of all Chile’s resorts. It is close to Santiago and the airport making for a short transfer. Valle Nevado is the primary ski resort of Chile's Three Valleys with the most skiable terrain and widest range of skiing.

The Hotel Valle Nevado is adjacent to the ski slopes and boasts some excellent facilities including an outdoor heated pool & fitness facilities, which it shares with the two other hotels at Valle Nevado. There are also a limited number of apartments, but as these do not include lift passes and access to hotel facilities they may not be a viable option for a ski week. You will enjoy après ski enhanced by the views and spectacular Valle Nevado sunsets over Santiago before you choose which restaurant to dine in.

Valle Nevado ski passes can be extended (extra charge) to include all 3 ski centres. The heli-skiing & heli-boarding here are both excellent. Valle Nevado is one of the few resorts (if not the only one as it often is) in South America where it is offered throughout the season, taking you further into the Andes for a fraction of the cost of North America or Europe. The off-piste is easily accessible and on quieter days you'll feel like you have the whole mountain to yourself. Santa Teresita should only be attempted with a suitable guide and gear. Valle Olimpia is another off-piste area to explore subject to your own ski or snowboard level, experience and local conditions.
