Helsingfors

Helsingfors may be too remote and isolated for some. However, the lodge is in the most incredible setting in the Los Glaciares National Park and will reward anyone prepared to make the trip. There are just 8 ensuite rooms.

You may choose to come here if you wish to stay a little longer in the majestic scenery of this national park, having already seen the Perito Moreno glacier. Once here you can enjoy trout-fishing, sailing on the lake, endless hiking or riding opportunities through the spectacular scenery; then there are the ice caves and the delicious regional food to discover after an active day in the great outdoors. There is a comfy communal sitting room with a roaring log fire, where you can relax and just enjoy being in this very spectacular part of Argentine Patagonia.

On all the ‘activities’ at Helsingfors you are accompanied by a bi-lingual guide. The lodge is open from October to April.

Helsingfors means ‘Helsinki’ in Swedish and was named by the Finnish adventurer who first settled here in the early 20th century with his family. His name was Alfred Ramstrom.
