Selva Bananito Lodge

Selva Bananito Lodge is a basic and family run eco-lodge built on a tropical farm of which 2/3 is primary rainforest, at the foot of the Muchilla mountain bordering La Amistad Biosphere Reserve.  The cabins stand on a ridge flanked by two streams.

On one side of the ridge you will see the Bananito River and its valley, where the farm’s pastures, plantations, and reforested areas are (great birdwatching here!). On the other side you will see the beautiful Cerro Muchilla and the Amistad Biosphere, which the property borders. Each cabin stands on stilts, in traditional Caribbean style. This type of architecture reduces moisture inside the buildings and improves the view and ventilation. Furthermore, far fewer insects and other little bugs find their way inside. Even so, you may want to inspect your shoes for unwanted guests before putting them on! Without the use of electricity it is hoped to create a quiet and relaxing environment for guests.

Selva Bananito Lodge offers possibilities for hiking, bird watching, horseback riding and more. It’s a perfect location to experience magnificent natural adventures, combined with the attractions of the Caribbean coast, like Cahuita National Park, Punta Uva or the Tortuguero canals.
