Shawandha Lodge

Shawandha Lodge is found on Costa Rica’s southern Caribbean coast, near the town of Puerto Viejo, the Shawandha Lodge boasts a privileged and exotic location alongside white sand beaches, lush tropical gardens and swaying palm trees. Shawandha Lodge offers refined and comfortable accommodations in a primitive, village like setting. The hotel’s 12 wood bungalows are nestled in more than 2 hectares of towering trees and vibrant tropical gardens.

Each bungalow has its own unique character and style and comes with a king size bed, large bathrooms, varnished hardwood floors, ceiling fans and terrace with a lovely view of the rain forest.

Each morning you will wake up to the timeless sound of breaking waves and the fresh, salty scent of the Caribbean Sea. A short path leads from the Shawandha Lodge to the beach where you can enjoy a variety of water sports or simply bask on a sun-baked beach.

There's a large open-air restaurant and lounge where delicious meals and drinks are served. The menu features an great mix of fresh fish and meats in a variety of French, Caribbean, and Polynesian sauces. Enjoy perhaps a heart of palm and avocado salad, followed by Lobster "a la Normande" and end with a delicate mousse de mango.

Shawandha Lodge offers easy access to a wide variety of tours and attractions that include surfing, snorkelling, surf-kayaking, horseback riding, hiking, tours to the Tortuguero Canals, Cahuita National Park tours, Gandoca-Manzanillo National Park tours and the Talamanca Indian Reserve tours.
