This once in a lifetime experience starts with the exploration of Braulio Carrillo National Park. One of the unique opportunities in Braulio Carrillo is the chance to contrast the flora and fauna at different elevations. Spend 3 days in Siquirres, enjoying a wide variety of activities, before being whisked off to Palma Sur for the last part of your trip. Here, you will visit the Corcovado National Park, Caño Island Biological Reserve, or enjoy a relaxed time on the beaches of Quepos and Manuel Antonio.

Itinerary

Day 1: Flight to San Jose.
Day at leisure. Enjoy exploring San Jose independently.

Day 2: Excursion to Tortuguero by land and boat
Cross the continental divide and the rainforest of the Braulio Carrillo National Park by bus until reaching the Caribbean lowlands. Lunch and hike in the forest upon arrival. Afterwards visit the Tortuguero Town by foot.

Day 3: Tortuguero National Park
Experience the awakening of the rain forest through boat tours in the narrow canals of the Tortuguero National Park. Toucans, caimans, turtles, monkeys and more….

Day 4: Siquirres – Pacuare Lodge
Boat transfer to the dock and after crossing banana plantations transfer by land from Siquirres to Pacuare Lodge by the river. Lunch and rest of the afternoon at your own leisure.

Day 5: Day for optional excursions at Pacuare Lodge.
You might want to experience a Canopy Tour, a horse-back ride or a visit to the Cabecar Indians. ( not included )

Day 6: Pacuare River Rafting and San Jose
Raft for more than 3 hours in one of the most beautiful rivers in Costa Rica. Afterwards transfer to San Jose. Overnight in San Jose.

Day 7: South Pacific
Transfer to the domestic airport and flight to Palmar Sur. Transfer to Sierpe Town and boat transfer through the magnificent mangroves of the Sierpe river and by the ocean until reaching the lodge. Lunch upon arrival and rest of the afternoon at your own leisure to explore the area.

Day 8: Corcovado National Park
Hike with a naturalist tour guide in rainforest trails of the famous Corcovado National Park. Wildlife observancy and great birwatching. Picnic by the beach and return to the lodge to enjoy the sunset.

Day 9: Caño Island Biological Reserve
Boat transfer to the island with great chances to see dolphins and whales. Hike in the island and great snorkeling in the best spots. Picnic lunch by the beach and boat transfer back to the lodge to enjoy the sunset.

Day 10: Palmar Sur - Quepos
Transfer by boat back to Sierpe Town and Palmar Sur. Flight to Quepos town and transfer to the Beach hotel. Rest of the afternoon to explore the area.

Day 11: Manuel Antonio National Park
Guided tour in the Manuel Antonio National Park for nature observancy. Easily you can see sloths, white-faced monkeys and others. Afterwards time at your own leisure to enjoy the Park and the beach.

Day 12: Manuel Antonio Beach
Day at your own leisure to enjoy the beach and your holidays.

Day 13: Manuel Antonio – San Jose
Morning at your own leisure. In the afternoon shuttle transfer back to San Jose and overnight.

Day 14: Transfer to the airport in San Jose and flight back home.
