The Osa Peninsula

AMAZING BEACHES!!!!
The Osa Peninsula in the southern Pacific is located on the south-western side of Costa Rica and is one of the least accessible parts of the country. It is also one of the least busy and least discovered…  Sierpe is the gateway to the peninsula and even Sir Francis Drake touched town here, hence Drake Bay. The area provides killer surfing and unspoiled national parks for adventurous souls to discover.

The Osa Peninsula is the last frontier of Costa Rica. Due to the lack of roads, this magical corner of Costa Rica has maintained its natural beauty. A rustic setting with miles of uninhabited beaches, scarlet macaws flying overhead and the captivating beauty of the rainforest, this will all be your home for a few days if you choose to include this area in your itinerary. It is the perfect spot for deep sea fishing, bird-watching, scuba diving, snorkelling and for experiencing the remarkable biodiversity of the Peninsula's tropical rainforest.

During the mating season, it is possible to view dolphins and whales in the calm Golfo Dulce. In fact the Golfo Dulce is the tenth deepest gulf in the world (up to about 200m), it is a tropical fjord providing a unique environment where whales teach their babies to swim and where ancient coral, 5000 years old, can be discovered. The nearby Cano Island is one of the best places to enjoy snorkelling and diving in all of Costa Rica. For nature-oriented travellers, both day trips and overnight trips are available to beautiful Corcovado National Park. Accommodation here varies from amazing ocean-front resorts to forest bungalows that immerse you in the surrounding natural beauty. We recommend that you stay for at least three nights wherever you choose to stay…
