Las Palmeras
Las Palmeras is the smaller sister property to the lovely Hacienda Cusin. Las Palmeras enjoys a tranquil location just up the hill from the bustling stalls of the Otavalo market and is also popular with shoppers in search of a restorative lunch. It is a 150 year old hacienda with towering palm trees and garden cottages with roaring log - fires, tucked in a lush mountain valley less than two hours north of
This is a sweet place to stay (and eat!). There are about 12 guest rooms of varying sizes. Tile-topped earthen walls contain an ever-blooming perennial garden with hibiscus, bougainvillea and a variety of other flowering plants and fruit trees, which attract hummingbirds, vermilion fly-catchers and a profusion of other native birds. Hammocks made by local craftsmen are hung throughout the grounds.
The inn's thick adobe walls preserve the day's warmth for the cool mountain nights, and roaring eucalyptus log - fires adds to the cosy atmosphere.
