With its proximity to the US, this part of Mexico is decidedly more 'western' than true 'Mexican'. Today it has become popular with the rich and famous and it has some very luxurious retreats (see Las Ventanas al Paraiso), where you can rub shoulders with celebrities - at a price naturally. There is no doubting that this is a nice spot to relax, to honeymoon etc, but there are perhaps more ‘Mexican’ places in Mexico to stay than here.
