Baja Camp

Baja Camp – is a small and luxurious tented camp open from May to early October on a remote white sandy beach on a completely unspoilt island in the Sea of Cortez called Isla Espiritu Santo.

A one hour boat ride from La Paz takes you past spectacular sheer red cliffs and delivers you to Baja Camp, located on a secluded beach on Isla Espiritu Santo. The island is a nature reserve with no hotels or marinas and the desert landscape is quite alien. The island is virtually uninhabited and the tented camp only has space for 5 safari-style tents (think proper beds and warm showers), so ten guests in totally giving you plenty of time for chilling out and a stress free couple of days. The surrounding scenery is starkly beautiful, the water clear and blue, the night skies are packed with stars. Throw in chilled cocktails, some yummy food (lots of seafood and as fresh as it gets) and a lovely Italian host who catches food for your supper and you are onto a winner.

Your days at Baja Camp are filled with boat excursions to snorkel with the resident sea lions, kayak in coves of transparent water, or hike across the rugged island. First class fishing and diving can be arranged too if required (payable locally).

More relaxing pursuits include wallowing in the cool ocean, spotting colorful fish even without snorkeling equipment, and just relaxing on a secluded beach.

Children over the age of seven are accepted.

Avoid August when it is fully booked more often than not anyway.
