To truly experience the strange wonder of the mazes and shapes of the Nasca lines, the best way is to fly over them. Only then is it possible to take in the magic of these massive etchings, some up to 1,000 feet in size.
However, for those who prefer not to ride in the tiny plane (which is strictly weather permitting) there is an observation tower which allows visitors to catch a glimpse of three of the shapes.
