Popular Peru is the classic itinerary which everyone should do at least once in their lifetime. In this fourteen day itinerary you will do effectively a southern circuit of the country which will take in all the main highlights. Machu Picchu is the highlight, but there are also some other mini-lights in the shape of Arequipa, the Colca Canyon and Cusco.

Day 1: Depart from the UK to Lima.

Day 2: Fly to Arequipa, explore the 'white city'.

Days 3-4: Drive to the Colca Canyon: walks, thermal springs and condors.

Day 5: Transfer across the altiplano by road to Lake Titicaca.

Day 6: Boat trip to the floating Uros Islands and pre-Inca funeral towers at Sillustani.

Day 7: Luxury train across the altiplano to Cusco.

Day 8: Full day in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Day 9: Train to Machu Picchu, explore the Inca citadel.

Day 10: Return in the afternoon to Cusco.

Day 11: At leisure in Cusco

Day 12: Fly back to Lima. Enjoy a city tour.

Day 13: Depart Lima for the home.

Day 14: Arrive back in the UK.
