The Amazon Jungle

Just the word ‘Amazon’ conjures up ideas of adventure. As a destination it is testing but it is also incredibly rewarding and you will without doubt discover flora and fauna that you will not have seen before. Exploring the jungle floor on foot and/or cruising up one of the Amazon tributaries in a boat, with an experienced guide, is something not to be missed.
For most destinations, the weather usually plays a fairly decisive part in choosing when to go. However, The Amazon is an exception with most of the region showing no great difference in weather from month to month. We can highly recommend lodges in either the Manu Biosphere Reserve or in the Tambopata-Candamo Reserved Zone. Or head north to Iquitos, the largest city in the Peruvian Amazon reached only by plane or boat. The cruise aboard M/V Aqua is an exciting way to spend a holiday.
Where to stay depends on how much time you wish to spend in the jungle – just dip in one big toe or a whole foot.
