Tailor-made holidays in Venezuela

Tailor-made holidays in Venezuela

Venezuela is probably best known as being the home of the highest waterfall in the world, the Angel Falls at 979 metres. It is also a place of incredible natural beauty with a long Caribbean coastline, snow-capped peaks of the Andes, the plains areas of the Llanos which are rich in wildlife and where table-topped mountains called ‘tepuis’ rise up dramatically from the plains.

Los Roques
One of the other better known attractions is Los Roques National Park which lies ninety miles north of Caracas. The archipelago comprises around 42 reef-formed islands, the largest being Gran Roque. The waters around the archipelago are crystal clear with lots of exotic fish. It is a great place to snorkel. Once on the cayes you will discover miles and miles of pristine, white sandy beaches. Perfect for a beach holiday or a more adventurous holiday or both! At Imagine Latin America we can tailor-make your holiday to exactly what you want.

Visas
Visas are not required by UK nationals. British passport holders can enter the country for up to 90 days on a tourist card.

When to Go

The dry season is from November until May although the country can be visited all year round.  As the falls are only accessible by water, the falls are generally inaccessible during these ‘dry season’ months.

The wet season is from June to October and is the best time to see the Angel Falls in all their glory. The wet season generally means short and sharp tropical downpours occur in the afternoons, though there is still plenty of sunshine to be had at this time of year as well.

The weeks around Christmas, Easter and in August are good times to avoid as the main sites to see can be crowded and prices go up a little. Generally speaking, Venezuela can be visited at any time of year and the daytime temperature is usually always around 28 – 30 degrees Celsius due to the fact that it is only just north of the Equator.

Getting there

While there are no direct flights to Venezuela from London, there are good indirect flights via Madrid with Iberia or via Lisbon with Air Portugal. The best way to get around is by using the efficient network of internal flights in Venezuela.
