Meike Growing up in Germany & Australia and living in London for the past 8 years has installed a passion for travelling and adventure in Meike. She has worked in the travel industry for 12 years, but a one year sabbatical traveling all over Latin America has made Meike the Latin America expert she is today. From hiking in Peru and Venezuela to exploring Colombia's hidden beaches, Meike knows her stuff, most recently enjoying a trekking trip in Patagonia and discovered surfing in Brazil. meike@imaginelatinamerica.co.uk
Sonia Rojas Sonia has worked in the travel industry for over 15 years of which 10 were spent as a tour leader in South America. Sonia who is a native Peruvian has travelled extensively around Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia and Brazil . Whilst travelling in Peru, she hiked the Inca Trail no less than 45 times! Now living in London, she recently took a trip to Costa Rica and Panama and hopes to visit Mexico and Belize sometime soon. She has always been fascinated by the contrasts of her continent, be it the Andes, the Amazon or the Patagonian foothills. Allison Lee Accepting an offer to be Godmother to a Bolivian child set off a chain of events that has seen Ally spend 4 years living, working and travelling in Latin America and ultimately considering it a second home. For 3 of those years she found herself working as a Tour Guide escorting groups all over South & Central America. Suriname & French Guiana are the only Latin American countries Ally is yet to see – just give her time! Lina Gelvez Lina has become unstoppable in the tourism industry ever since she began her first job for a Tour Operator in Santiago, Chile! Although, her love of travelling actually began when she moved from Manitoba, Canada, to Chile as a child with her family. Lina has had the opportunity to tour all over Chile and Canada. She has also made a point in visiting several cities in Latin America, including: Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay, Costa Rica & Cuba. Katherine O'Donoghue After 8 years in the banking industry, Katherine took time out to travel and in the process discovered and fell in love with Latin America, arguably the most beautiful and diverse continent on earth. While there she helped the gauchos round up 30 horses on an estancia in Mendoza, trekked extensively in Patagonia, including on the spectacular Perito Moreno glacier, and climbed to the summit of active volcano Villarrica in Chile. All this along with other previous trips inspired a career change to the travel industry, and she loves helping clients to plan their trips and sharing with them her passion for this wonderful part of the world. katherine@imaginelatinamerica.co.uk
Tessa Morrison On her first trip to Latin America, aged 18, Tessa fell in love with the peoples, the lifestyles and the languages (not to mention the many accents!) of this diverse region. This was an unforgettable experience that has influenced every decision she’s made since: whenever she’s not been in Latin America, she’s been working out her next way to get back! She’s lived in Argentina and Chile and travelled extensively throughout the continent, returning to Latin America at every opportunity. Tessa loves the great outdoors and particular highlights have been trekking in beautiful Argentine Patagonia and exploring virgin rainforest in the Brazilian Amazon. A secret geek at heart, she’s studied Cuban history extensively and so felt really lucky to visit this wonderful country recently, as it stands on the brink of profound change. Tessa’s found a home-from-home in Latin America, regarding some of the lifelong friends she’s made there as a second family. Although the landscapes of the region are truly second to none, Tessa believes the hundreds of photos she’s taken over the years don’t do her experiences of Latin America justice – there’s simply too much to capture. tessa@imaginelatinamerica.co.uk
Helen Crosbie Dawson Before studying Spanish at university, Helen spent 4 months travelling round Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia and Peru. Whilst in these wonderful countries, she fell in love with the continent and so seized the opportunity to return during her year abroad; this time to Mexico. In Helen’s opinion there is no better place; the continent is beautiful and diverse, the people are friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious, the colours are stunning and the climate is perfect! Helen always has the same answer when people ask her where she plans on travelling to next, Latin America; there is just so much to see! helen@imaginelatinamerica.co.uk
